I live in the beautiful northwestern portion of Wisconsin, even though I truthfully hate these sub-zero winters, I grew up here and can’t imagine being anywhere else! I have the wonderful opportunity to stay at home with my kids and I also work from home.
I am constantly looking for ways to save money (like making my own Homemade Laundry Soap) and ways to make a little extra money (like Planning a Successful Money Making Garage Sale)!
I have also embarked on the never-ending journey of making my life less complicated and more organized; The Household Planner has helped me to Get it Together & Get it Organized!
The Creation of The Household Planner
The Household Planner came about as I was struggling to keep my household in order and trying to make better use of my days. Now, I did not invent the idea of a household planner, I had read about them online, some call them a home management binder, household notebook, homemaking notebook. Well, this all started when I was searching for that Perfect Weekly Planner that would help me to organize and make better use of my days.
I am a work-at-home mom and was selling on eBay and had a couple of other internet marketing projects going on. I always used to think that when I decided to stay home with my kids, I would have so much time to do all of the things I had been meaning to do. 🙂 Some of you are smiling because you know…boy was I wrong! LOL!
So, with no luck finding that perfect planner, I decided to make my own customized weekly planner where I could record all of my goals for the week or day and finally get control of my time!
I have a degree in elementary education and taught as a substitute for about 5 years before I started my family. I am a very visual person, I need to see everything laid out. I LOVE lists,charts and sticky notes:) And that is exactly what my customized planner reflects! No more livin’ on sticky notes and to-do lists! Ok, I still use a few but I’m not relying on them like I used to and for the most part, it’s all in my planner!
The unique part of this planner system is that it includes places to record all of the tasks that we, as busy women, need to take care of such as: making dinner, household tasks, personal tasks, work or project tasks, financial tasks, activities, shopping list, calls to make or emails to send and any other to-do’s that don’t fit into these categories!
I knew that I was probably not the only busy mom or woman who could benefit from this so I decided to make a complete Household Planner to give all of the busy women out there a little helping hand to get control of their time too!
I don’t want to alienate any stay-at-home dads or dads that are doing the majority of making sure the household is running smoothly! Busy men can take charge of using The Household Planner too!
